'My Dad & Me & The SEC' Returns with Season 4

***This post was written before the EKY flooding. As a current and past resident of the mountains, we plan to keep these people in our thoughts and help them however we can all season long***

Long time no pod!

If you're a subscriber of the show, you've probably wondered where the weekly installments of My Dad & Me & The SEC have gone. Jeremy and I started the show in August 2019 as a way for us to connect each week while I was in college and as a platform to talk about our favorite conference.

Now I'm out of college and talking about sports for a living. This last year covering Kentucky high school sports and the Wildcats still feels like a dream sometimes. I have learned so much about the biz and met so many people who love sports like I do.

Last November was not supposed to be the beginning of a hiatus. As I balanced my first full-time football season, raising a kitten and living on my own, pulling out the mic every week and editing our episodes got tough. I felt like I was letting our few but loyal listeners down. And mainly, I felt like I was letting my dad down.

So now we're here. 2022 has been a great year for my career and well-being, and I'd like to say I have a handle on this whole big girl thing. And I miss creating new episodes and talking about sports with my dad. He's the reason I'm in this field, after all. It's time to put the conversations we have almost daily back on the digital airwaves.

Our goal is to start bringing all y'all weekly Thursday episodes again starting this football season. If you aren't already subscribed, you can find us on Spotify, Soundcloud and Apple Podcasts. We'll have updates on both our Twitter accounts - @courtneylaynebr and @jeremysbrewer - and hope to interact with listeners and talk about what you want to hear about.

My Dad & Me & The SEC is a passion project. We're ready to share our passion with you once again.
